The annual meeting of China's aluminum carbon industry was grandly held/Mr. Guo Yansheng, chairman of the board, was elected vice chairman of the aluminum carbon branch.

On September 5th, 2024, the 16th China Aluminum Carbon Annual Conference and Carbon Materials Development Forum was grandly opened in Yantai, Shandong. At the opening ceremony, Fan Shunke, the deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and chairman of the Aluminum Carbon Sub-committee, first congratulated the successful conclusion of the first meeting of the third council and congratulated the newly elected vice chairmen and council members, while also thanking all representatives for their support and company.

Secretary Fan stated: “Diligence reaps rewards, and those who strive will succeed; we have been working hard.” Secretary Fan then gave a keynote speech titled “Accelerating the Cultivation of New High-Quality Productivity and Opening a New Chapter in the High-Quality Development of Aluminum Carbon”, focusing on four aspects: the operating conditions and characteristics of the industry since 2023, the problems and challenges facing the industry, the development changes in the aluminum carbon industry over the past five years, and the full-scale promotion of high-quality development in the aluminum carbon industry.

Honorary Election

The third member's conference and council turnover meeting of the Aluminum Carbon Sub-committee elected Comrade Guo Yansheng, chairman of Shanxi Sanjin Carbon Co., Ltd., as the vice chairman of the Aluminum Carbon Sub-committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.

Mr. Guo pointed out: From the beginning of 2023 to the present, the market for aluminum cathode carbon has been volatile. In the future electrolytic aluminum market, customers will have higher requirements for the performance of the products, so cathode products must gradually move towards high-end. As manufacturers, we need to consider how we can adapt to market development, meet customer needs, and deliver high-quality products in the face of the continuous development of the aluminum industry.

Based on this, we should enhance our own capabilities: increase investment in technology, carry out technological innovation and research and development, continuously develop higher-quality products, and promote the development of China's aluminum industry; adhere to strengthening industry self-discipline: call for resisting "involutionary" vicious competition and continuously promoting the high-quality development of enterprises.

Conference Summary

The conference fully affirmed the contribution of Shanxi cathode carbon enterprises to the development of the industry, and fully affirmed Sanjin Carbon's achievement of maintaining the number one export position for six consecutive years, with exports accounting for 27% of the national total in 2023. The conference also hoped that Sanjin Carbon will continue to export high-quality products and make greater contributions to optimizing the domestic and international marketing environment.

Since the beginning of this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the need to develop new high-quality productivity, pointing out a new direction for China's promotion of technological innovation, strategic emerging industries, and future industries.
